Lemonade ...

This trailer is from the upcoming documentary movie "Lemonade" which tells the story of what happens when people who were once paid to be creative in advertising are forced to be creative with their own lives.

According to the movie's synopsis, some 70,000 advertising professionals have lost their jobs during this "great recession". Thankfully, my husband Jon, who is an Art Director at an agency, still has a job.

But since I've had so many friends lose their jobs recently and perhaps you or someone you know has been affected by unemployment, I thought we could all appreciate this encouraging snippet; because you never know when life might hand you some lemons ...

Another movie I need to watch this year ...

This looks like a great movie that has some star power behind it; Harrison Ford, Ashley Judd & Ray Liotta. Coming out in August 2009.

"Crossing Over" is about immigrants of different nationalities struggling to achieve legal status in Los Angeles. The film addresses the issue from the point of view of the immigrants, as well as the immigration authorities tasked with enforcing the nation’s immigration laws. I'm hoping that it lives up to the trailer.

My newest obsession ...

Thanks to my friend Monica, I spent 2 days of our vacation to Palm Springs last week "devouring" Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. I'm reading Eclipse right now and Breaking Dawn is being delivered to my local Borders on Tuesday.

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, save yourself. Don't become an addict like me. One book, and you won't stop. I'm counting the days until the movie premieres on Dec. 12, 2008. Here's a tempting sneak peek!

Across The Universe

The movie just came out this weekend and is already receiving wonderful reviews. The ticket sales were not as high as expected BUT all the major newspapers and initial reviews are saying it's a creative masterpiece and sure to win many awards. I can't wait to see it. They say that if you enjoyed Moulin Rouge or Beatles music, you'll love it!

Here's the trailer ...
