Lost Things ...

Happy Saturday everyone! I just stumbled across this amazing little video and I just had to share it with you.

It's a brilliant short stop-motion film, written & directed by Angela Kohler and starring the gorgeous and talented Alison Sudol from A Fine Frenzy.

I really LOVE stop motion and envy people that have the kind of creativity and patience to make something this beautiful. Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Birthday to my friend Sharon ...

Hi Sharon! I hope you are having a fabulous day. I figure I could have just emailed you OR post a birthday greeting for you here. But since I'm pretty sure you've probably read every post I've ever done, and for sure you've commented the most, I decided to go public with my message =)

And for all those times that I wondered if anyone out there was reading my random thoughts, I thank you for commenting and especially for telling me what your really think, I love that about you and I consider myself fortunate to know you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, MI AMIGA!!!

ps. Couldn't resist posting this cute picture of you and your little one, that was such a fun day in Barrio Logan, que no?

Oh, and of course I'll end with a little video ... Enjoy!

These are all dedicated to my amazing husband, Jon.

Jon, I've had a really great weekend celebrating the Valentine holiday, but way more than that, I'm celebrating my good fortune and thanking God for you. I'm one very lucky girl to have you by my side for the rest of my life. Happy Valentine's Day Mi Amor.

Hope you enjoy these ...

And what would Valentine's Day be without a little cheezy goodness.

Beautifully Flawed ...

I just watched this awesome video by 25-year-old singer/songwriter Caitlin Crosby. And especially as a mom of 3 girls I love this message: "Love your flaws." Caitlin's got a studio album Flawz and a new website, loveyourflawz.com, and it's striking a chord with young women in a big way.

When asked about her inspiration for her Flawz album, Caitlin says that self-image is only part of the big picture that she's trying to tackle. Some songs on Flawz address more upbeat topics, while others take on weighty subjects like racism, homelessness, and social hierarchies. Either way, the main agenda of Crosby’s message is what she calls a “re-brainwashing” effort.

She explains it this way: Young women are largely accustomed to gauging themselves by physical attractiveness; but through her work, she aims to help them reverse the damage done by years of media messaging.

“Find those things that make you feel alive. When you’re doing what you were made to do, you’ll feel a confidence that has nothing to do with outward beauty.”

Gotta' say I love that last quote the most! Hope you enjoy watching this as much as I did ...

Art, Art I Want You ...

The girls have been inside most of the week because of the rain. I love it! We've done our lessons, some cleaning, playing, eating and a whole lot of creating. This picture reflects a bit of the girls' creativity from the past week. The girl on the left is by Natalie, and the girl with puppies on the right is by Stefani. I envy what they can do with a pencil and paper. I didn't have a drawing for Emily, she's mostly be writing and doing video and photography stuff. But here's a link to the video Emily made for a contest with her new Pullip Doll. Some fun stuff happening at the Hall place these days.

I also wanted to share with you a fun little video that might inspire you to make some art of your own on this wonderful rainy day. Enjoy!
